AFT President Randi Weingarten will visit two Baltimore City public schools on Nov. 1, 2013 that are using an AFT Innovation Fund grant to develop project-based learning focused on the origins of students’ food, healthy food choices, sustainable urban farming and gardening.

AFT Healthcare-Maryland president Debra Perry reports that the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing are co-sponsoring free training courses for all DHMH nurses.
Says AFT NM President Stephanie Ly, "We believe this governor and PED are destroying public education in NM. It is our obligation to the communities, students, and educators to advocate for reclaiming the promise to a world class public education system in NM."
