The leaders of five major unions issued a statement June 30 expressing their disappointment with the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to hear a case, Friedrichs v. California Teachers Association, that challenges fees non-union members pay.

AFT-Wisconsin release: JFC budget a disaster

Governor Scott Walker’s proposed 2015-17 budget for the state of Wisconsin, introduced earlier this year, was jam-packed with shameful attacks on working Wisconsinites. Since then, Republican majorities on the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee (JFC) have been finding ways to make a bad budget even worse. Now that the JFC has wrapped up budget deliberations, its budget proposal will be taken up by the state Senate and Assembly, then head to Governor Walker’s desk for his signature.  Here's what AFT-Wisconsin President Kim Kohlhaas had to say:

Advanced Degree Differential Chart

The link below is to a pdf chart that shows your advanced degree differential established last payroll year for employees current at that time.  This amount will not change, but will carry forward with you for the remainder of your employment with HISD. 

The differential was calculated based on the amount required at your given step to provide an $1,100.00 raise last year.  That amount will now be added your current step after the 2% raise was factored in as shown in the example.

You must ensure that you use your step last year to determine your differential.  This amount will not be included on the salary schedule, but you should see it in your payroll information for next year online.
