August Payroll for Non-Direct Deposit Employees & New Teachers
If you are a teacher new to Morgan Hill or you do not use the direct deposit option for your paycheck, the August checks will be delivered to the sites the morning of 8/31/15. Any check not picked up from the secretaries by 3:30 will be returned to the DO for mailing by 4:00 pm. September through July the checks are available for pick up at the DO on the date of issue from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Any checks not picked up by 4:00 pm will be taken directly to the post office for mailing.
October 10, 2015 -- The South Central Federation of Labor (SCFL) is providing a training opportunity called "Building Workplace Power".

Labor Day is just around the corner! Local labor councils, the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, and community partners will be coming together across the state to celebrate the struggles, achievements, and victories of workers everywhere. Our sisters and brothers at the Wisconsin AFL-CIO have compiled a list of local Labor Day celebrations throughout Wisconsin - check it out, and help spread the word!
All across Baltimore, students and families alike were revved up for the start of the 2015-16 school year. The Baltimore Teachers Union was excited to participate in the 10th Annual Back to School Give-A-Way and rally at Warwick Park in West Baltimore on Saturday, August 29th. The event featured high profile city officials including States' Attorney Marilyn Mosby, her husband (and City Councilman) Nick Mosby, as well as State Senator Joan Carter-Conway. The event was hosted by Bilal Ali Productions and Bridges & Son's Grocery.

AUGUST 31, 2015 – BATON ROUGE, LA – The leaders of Louisiana’s two largest public education unions –the Louisiana Federation of Teachers and the Louisiana Association of Educators – today announced a joint effort to spotlight candidates who support the best interests of public education.
In a case that could have statewide implications, WV Administrative Law Judge Brenda Gould sided with AFT-WV's assertion that an employee dress code enacted in 2013 by the Lewis County Board of Education is unconstitutional. Click here to read more about this case.
