Retiree Council 23 Spring Luncheon

NTU members who depend on NJ Transit should be preparing for their strike next week now! The name of this Fb Group says it all, and here are some tips:

1) reach out to staff members in your building at Kronos time or through their mailboxes, let them know about your situation,

2) reach out to friends or family at other NPS locations,

3) post your NPS location, pick up location, sign out time and NPS email address here (confirm they are NPS employees), you might find a match.

The vote to accept the Tentative Agreement between BCFPE and Baltimore County has passed with a vote of 85%. Thank you to everyone who came out last week to cast your vote.

Baltimore Teachers Union’s Women’s Rights Committee is planning its third annual Women in the Labor Movement Luncheon.  Our theme is “Trailblazers in the Women’s Labor Movement.”

March is Women in History month.  This is the time designated to honor and/or recognize the numerous contributions of women everywhere.  Historically women have demonstrated their unwavering commitment and dedication to an abundance of causes, working tirelessly in front of and behind the scenes making vast contributions to our society.

Over the upcoming weeks, there are quite a few events taking place across Long Island to encourage and show solidarity for public education. I have included information below that highlights these educational events and forums. The flyer lists a schedule of various Community Forums. Please feel free to share this information with friends and family or post it on social media such as twitter, Facebook, etc.

The Wisconsin Coalition of Annuitants will hold their annual meeting on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the American Family Insurance Conference Center at 6000 American Family Parkway, Madison.  Four outstanding speakers will address the group:

---Robert Conlin, Secretary of the Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF)

---Michael Williamson, Executive Director of the State of WI Investment Board (SWIB).

---Steve Rick, economist for CUNA Mutual Insurance Group,

---Sandy Chalmers, Assistant Deputy Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP)
