AFT St. Louis was chartered June 11, 1935 as Local 420 with the American Federation of Teachers. The union was integrated BEFORE the St. Louis Public Schools in 1935. AFT national and our Local have stood for diversity and acceptance and against racism and segregation from the start.

The Long Island Museum in Stony Brook invites all amateur and professional artists to submit up to three pieces of art representing the Animal Kingdom; a favorit pet, a memorable adventure, a scene from nature … It's a jungle out there and the Museum want to see what Long Island artists have to share.

On July 13th we reached our first agreement with management to improve staffing in the Urgent Care Centers by offering a double-time incentive for any extra shifts worked between Friday, July 14th and Saturday, August 26th.
Help Secure a NO VOTE on the NYS Constitutional Convention
NYSUT is working to ensure a NO VOTE on the Constitutional Convention this November, and is asking for our help. They will be holding retiree phone banks every Tuesday starting August 1st at the Suffolk Regional Office in Hauppauge.
