'Kaiser-Alliance Partnership Agreement' Now Online
On May 22, our Alliance Unions reached agreement with Kaiser Permanente on an updated version of the original 1997 founding LMP Agreement. The updated LMP Agreement fully preserves our employment security and union rights, while reflecting today’s priorities, structures, and challenges.

Welcome to our New Superintendent! On Tuesday, The Newark Board of Education unanimously picked Roger Leon as the Newark Public Schools Superintendent to lead our district as we continue to move towards local control.
Lobbying Against Understaffing at State Facilities
Following intense lobbying by AFT Healthcare-Maryland, Delegate Joseline Peña-Melnyk sent a letter to Secretary of Health Robert Neall, inquiring about understaffing at state psychiatric hospitals. The union thanks Del.
MD/DC Alliance for Retired Americans
The Maryland/DC Alliance for Retired Americans held a statewide meeting at the Baltimore Teachers Union. The group gathered to discuss a number of issues pertinent to members of the organization. Retirees from the City Union of Baltimore and the Baltimore Teachers Union made up a significant number of those in attendance. Retirees from other AFL-CIO unions including AFSCME and SEIU were also in attendance.
