Red for Ed Wednesdays Return

(August 21, 2019) INVERNESS, FL -- Citrus County Education Association is calling for all public education advocates to recommit to the Wear Red for Ed campaign through the 2019-2020 school year. Red for Ed is both a statewide and national effort to draw much needed attention to the funding crisis which is impacting classrooms across the country. Wearing red on Wednesdays throughout the year is a show of solidarity and a visible reminder of the ongoing struggle to appropriately fund public education.

Yesterday you received an email communication from the District's Risk Management Dept.  detailing the state's liability insurance plan for eductaors.  This is the state's way of falsely claiming you do not need to join the teacher union to be provided work-related representation. 

AFT-Maryland Back to School Event

When the community calls, AFT-Maryland answers. This was the case when the state federation joined former Delegate Bilal Ali and a host of west Baltimore community members for a back-to-school family fun day. The event took place at Warwick Park and featured a number of fun and exciting activities for the children.
